Wabi opens as the first authentic Japanese restaurant on East Street in Horsham, West Sussex
Named for the Japanese aesthetic Wabi-Sabi, celebrating simple beauty and understated elegance, Wabi matches this description through the design of the restaurant and the food served by acclaimed Chef Scott Hallsworth. Each dish combines traditional Japanese culinary techniques with quality local ingredients, making for a modern Japanese experience.
Extending over two floors, Wabi offers an unprecedented experience no matter what the occasion. The ground floor boasts a stylish casual and everyday dining space, whereas elegant dining can be enjoyed upstairs in view of the chef’s counter and a stunning water wall. For a more private experience, they have four impressive booths seating up to six people, and a private Tatami room which can accommodate twelve diners.
The head chef of Wabi is Scott Hallsworth who was trained by no other than Nobuyuki Matsuhisa - known to the world simply as “Nobu” - and was the Head Chef of Nobu in Park Lane and Melbourne. Scott is the author of " The Japanese Foie Gras Project", which has a forward by Nobuyuki Matsuhisa.
Wabi is listed in the 'Top 100 UK Best Restaurants' in the National Restaurant Awards 2010.
