Mairead Molloy, Director of Berkeley International, has over 2,000 members on her books, including leading figures from the world of film, television, finance and law.

Berkeley International, with offices in Mayfair, Cannes, Monaco and New York, offers an exclusive, discreet introduction service to find perfect partners and soul mates for cash rich but time poor individuals. Joining fees start at £7,000 and range up to £40,000 a year for the agency’s ultimate bespoke service.

“Our clients are successful men and women who have little time to filter through mediocrity”, says Molloy. “They have to be financially successful to afford the fee, but this could range from a City executive with a bit of spare, to a  wealthy individual.

“People come in with a list of things they’re looking for but often they are wrong. They have spent hours thinking it through – what they think they need. Sometimes it’s better to have an informal chat. You can get a sense of their personality and what they are really like. Sometimes I ask them what they absolutely don’t want – it can be more telling!” says Molloy.

Molloy matches people based not only on their criteria and but also her own impressions. She or one of her four colleagues call both sides, and if the way is clear, the man calls the woman. If the date fails, they inform the spurned party. “I’ll tell them, ‘No spark, no chemistry,’” says Molloy. “You don’t want to hurt any feelings.”

“I will always act on the feedback after the date,” says Molloy, “I provide advice where needed, or if there was no chemistry, will work on choosing someone else.
